The Time Is Now is a show where Rev. Forbes "discusses current news and talks with some of the most important voices in art, politics, activism, and faith." The first episode has an interview with White House Press Corps dean Helen Thomas. Next weekend will feature Archbishop Desmond Tutu. The show broadcasts on Saturdays and is a perfect companion to the Rev. Welton Gaddy's Sunday evening program, State of Belief (blog syndicated at state_of_belief). Forbes, who's 70, mixes his black Pentecostal heritage with a progressive populism inspired by Coffin, King, Tutu and others on the religious left.

(I'm also the creator of the steveearleradio feed, for the blog connected with The Steve Earle Show at Air America Radio, formerly called The Revolution Starts Now. It's their Sunday night music show, Steve Earle and a guest in the studio playing about six tracks each week and talking very little if at all about politics. You can find THAT show's podcast here...)
